Report From An Opinionated Gardener – March 31

It’s snowing, again. Still.

I’ve decided to ignore it. Instead, I’m focusing on a talk that I’m giving at the Eastham Senior Center tomorrow morning. The topic will be, Give Me More Color!, and we’ll look at plants that deliver just that, be it through foliage or flowers.

The white stuff can fall outside but I’m in denial. It’s spring, damn it, and I’m looking at great plants, gardening and new beginnings.

It's beautiful, but enough already.

  • I do love this view of your pergola and inviting chairs with all the woods and hills around. The subtle curve of stonework in the patio is just right. So serene, even in snow under a gray sky.

  • Thanks, Laurrie! We’re trying to get grape vines growing on this structure although they are slow to grow.

  • HI C.L.: looks like you don’t have any other choice. You have snow and so do we. Can’t figure out what we did to piss Mother Nature off so bad. Guess we will have to wait until tomorrow to see how much.

    Have a great day,

  • John,
Ours turned to rain – much needed – in the night. Spring is still being “standoffish” however.
