All We Can Do…

Report From An Opinionated Gardener – May 8

Sometimes, all we can do is plant for the future and count our blessings in the present. As I look at my gardens I’m so grateful that three years ago I planted for spring color: purple and lime colored heuchera, creeping phlox and Sedum ‘Angelina’, along with the spring flowering bulbs, lift my heart right now. As I walk The Dog in the mornings and evenings I find colors, light and plants to be grateful for. Very needed because it’s kind of crazy with my mother-in-law right now.

Along with the flowers, the colors in our fresh spring foliage bring hope to our hearts. I am reminded that fresh life springs from the earth every year…with that, new opportunities to become amazed, more aware, and grateful. Our gardens nurture US! (And our dog makes me smile.)
