In many parts of the country gardeners continue to buy annuals, perennials and shrubs, and place them in their gardens. Unfortunately, too many people choose plants that are already in bloom in the garden center. Flowers are seductive, there’s no doubt about it, but if early blooming plants are the only ones that people are willing to purchase, their gardens won’t be very colorful later in the season.
Be willing to take a leap of faith and purchase plants that aren’t in flower. Many of these will grow and be in their full glory in the late summer and fall. They are worth buying and waiting for. Late season color? You Can Grow That!
