Garden Bloggers You Can Grow That Day – June 4

Unfortunately, too many people choose plants that are already in bloom in the garden center. Flowers are seductive, there’s no doubt about it, but if early blooming plants are the only ones that people are willing to purchase, their gardens won’t be very colorful later in the season.

Be willing to take a leap of faith and purchase plants that aren’t in flower. Many of these will grow and be in their full glory in the late summer and fall. They are worth buying and waiting for. Late season color? You Can Grow That!

'Blue Horizon' Ageratum, perennial Hibiscus 'Raspberry' and assorted dahlias and zinnias are small and green at this time of year, but large and colorful later.
