Report From PIA – October 20
When I woke up this morning I immediately saw that it was absolutely magical outside. Some parts of the yard were heavily frosted, while those closer to the lake were covered not with frost, but with fog. I walked around the property in my bathrobe, taking pictures, amazed at the beautiful mix of life and death in the garden.
After that, it was hit and miss. I did a morning consultation for a garden-coaching client, and this evening spoke to a delightful group of Master Gardeners in Rhode Island. In between I took The Dog to the vet after a freak accident on the beach. He ran up to play with a puppy that was on a leash, and the leash somehow got caught in his eye. Two hours and a vet bill later, I was reassured that he’ll be OK.
None of this is very interesting to anyone, myself included. There were no great insights or moments of wonderful clarity…it was just a frosty, cherished morning, and a day of taking care of business. Even in the garden, some days are just like that.
