Report From PIA – December 4

Yesterday I had lunch with the Cape Cod Master Gardeners, and saw many great people that I’ve come to know through this organization. There were several new people there who completed the Master Gardener training this year. I felt sure that although I don’t know them now, I’d most likely enjoy their company. Gardening brings people together in a positive way.

When I think of the number of people who have come into my life through gardening, I’m filled with gratitude. This group includes those of you who stop by Whole Life Gardening frequently. I’m so appreciative that you choose to make this blog a part of your day.

From the links to people, to the beauty of form and flowers, the garden gives me so much pleasure. As I worked in my perennial border yesterday, I remembered how each plant looked last summer, and as I cut the dried stalks out of the bed I said thank you, thank you, thank you.

I love that the connections that germinate in a garden, and hope that I can remember to cultivate them.

Although the garden is looking kind of bare right now, as I cut the stalks down I remember how these perennials looked last summer.

Although I'm cutting black, dried stems this week, I'm remembering when that Helianthus 'Lemon Queen' was covered with yellow flowers.
