Garden Reports and Rejoicing – November 23 – In the Spirit of Thanksgiving Week

Dear Frost,

I have to say that although I dread your arrival, you manage to make the landscape magical the morning after you arrive. Seeing all my plants edged in your white lace reminds me to appreciate this season and the changes it brings.

All my annuals are now dead and I miss how colorful they were in the garden. But I’m free to spend new time indoors and I look forward to doing more cooking, reading and writing. Thanks for reminding me that there are two sides to every coin.

By the way, who gave you the name “Jack”?

C.L.

Frost is magical in the morning, and a killer by noon.
