I’m pausing my usual blog routine tonight in remembrance of a dear woman who died yesterday. Wendy Clark was a good friend and a second mother to my kids when they were little. On most days we would speak during that early evening time when the kids were both tired and rambunctious…she called this period between 5 and 7 PM “the arsenic hours.” She kept me laughing and sane.
Wendy was a fellow lover of plants and gardens. When I told her that we were moving to Cape Cod her response was, “Oh, now you can grow those outrageous blue hydrangeas!” I’m so sad that she’s gone, and so grateful that I knew her.
