I visited Cosentino’s nursery the other day and came away smiling. They not only have a huge selection of succulents, they’ve created a delightful series of container gardens using these plants. From low, flat bowls to taller ceramic pots, the selection was wonderful.
Also charming was the table where odd objects from coffee pots and garbage cans to toys were filled with plants. I started to imagine the fun of creating an outdoor room where object and piece of furniture would be stuffed with succulents. Table tops, chair seats, teacups and candelabras…
You can often see such displays at spring flower shows but we gardeners could do more of this in our own yards. I propose that this might even be a form of therapy. Feel stuck creatively? Trapped in the same old? Have a touch of the blues? Play with your plants.
